Craftacular!!

I have to send out a HUGE thank you to Andrea and her husband Chad for the new Craftacular poster design! It is exactly what I was envisioning and did it so amazing quick, especially considering they both work AND have two kids to take care of!!! It is perfect… I do have a few new exciting sponsors we will be adding and a couple minor changes, but I adore it.

There is still time to apply for the show. The info is HERE.

Time to squeeze in lunch while the baby is asleep! OH, one other thing. I am trying to take off some major ‘I’ve been pregnant for two years and was a wee bit overweight before that….’ weight and can’t figure out where to start. Does anyone have suggestions / comments as to what has worked for them or anyone they know?? It would be nice to drop down a bit before the holidays start!!

Happy Monday

Today is off to a great start. It’s a bit overcast and grey, and it’s almost October, my favorite month!!

September has gone ridiculously fast.

The rest of my weekend ended up nice. My niece stayed with us all weekend since the girls were here. Usually they are with their dad on the weekends so it is nice when we have a chance to all be together.

Violet (my niece) is incredible. We were sitting at the table making puppy chow (diet?? what diet???) and look what she drew for me in about ten minutes.

Did I mention she is only thirteen?? She is an amazing artist and I hope she pursues it.

I also got a chance to photograph a vintage find I have been holding on to for a few weeks.

I adore the owls, and of course want to keep it, but we are in the process of decluttering (as always) and so I am passing it along. I also marked down a few vintage goodies on my Etsy shop. You can go here to see them.

Today a little happy man also turns eight weeks old!! When did that happen? I love that he is actually smiling now and interacting a bit more. Here are a few of todays happy grins.

Well, I can now hear Mr. Happy screaming his head off, so I suppose I better go! When the boss calls, you have to listen…

I hope you all have a happy Monday too.

Outings

Yesterday we went on two outings. First, we all walked down to Warner Park for Apple Fest. While there really weren’t many apples, I did find some great books at the book sale and we purchased some yummy baked goodies at the bake sale. There were tons of people there and it was nice to see so much community support.

Then we decided to go to the Halloween store to look at costumes. The girls each tried one on, but holy crap, they are really expensive and so …… well, not my style. The girls weren’t thrilled with any of them really either. I wish I could sew. My mom always made our costumes. I wish I still had the fluffy squirrel she made me!! I think it was for a forest program for school then I ended up wearing it for Halloween. Darby wants to be a genie this year and I also had an amazing genie costume…

Any of you sew out there??? I would be sooo happy to order a costume! I am thinking of doing an alchemy listing on Etsy but I’m not sure if it’s too late.

After the Halloween store, we of course had to head to the pumpkin patch!!

The girls all had fun and as some of you know, the pumpkin patch is probably one of my favorite places on earth. We just went to a small farm patch off the highway, but I think we may have to hit a big one still. We filled up a whole wagon! Here’s a few more pics..

I don’t know how any child of mine could have this reaction to being surrounded by pumpkins..

Luckily, he was more like this all day..

Our little morsel of baby, as Zoe calls him, will be eight weeks old tomorrow! He is getting so big already and has really completed our family. Now we just have to teach him how completely and utterly fantastic pumpkin patches are..

Side note, perhaps I am just out of some type of loop, but did you know that Tim Burton is making an adaptation of Alice in Wonderland with Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter???? Along with pumpkins, Alice holds a dear and special place in this twisted heart!

Let Peace Begin With Me

My entire world…

What an incredible weekend we had! The Willy St. Fair was absolutely amazing. I was thrilled to see all my local crafty friends and customers and the turnout was more than I could have hoped for! The weather was perfect, the baby was GREAT (he was down there with us for about seven hours…), and I found those amazing peace tees and dress. The vendor was Peace, Madison. She had such beautiful clothing!

We also dropped off a huge shipment of coasters and assorted goodies at Anthology. It felt good to get them restocked a bit. I have more items I am working on still, but I’m just trying to do what I can. I also sold out of cat hats at the show and have two custom orders to fill. Yikes, in a good way.

I do have a kind of sick baby right now that needs attending so I shall keep it short. He has thrush (which means mama has thrush… OUCH) and he is also having some poop issues. I know, too much info. Poor guy…. The doctor said it’s ok right now still, but the poor guy hasn’t gone since Sunday! And, this was a baby who was pooping ten (literally) times a day… sorry. My days revolve around poop, spit up, baby smiles, school kids, snacks, dinners, bedtimes… In other words, my days are perfect.

I will leave you today with a link that my friend Misha of Sweet Usoapia sent me last week describing Eve Ensler of the Vagina Monologues thoughts on Sarah Palin. I’m not going to give my personal opinion on the woman here, but for anyone that knows me, you can probably guess… Here is the link… http://sweetusoapia.com/About_Us.html.

I shall go enjoy my constipated baby and the rainy day now.
xx’s and oo’s
